Beckette's Book Bonanza

The competition invites primary school pupils across the borough to take part in a fun reading challenge that encourages them to spend more time enjoying books. One of the unique aspects of the challenge is its focus on family reading, where children are encouraged to read alongside a parent, guardian, or family member at the same time, helping to make the experience feel more relaxed and enjoyable. The idea is to turn reading into a shared activity that builds confidence for young readers while creating meaningful family moments around books.

The reading challenge itself is quite simple. Pupils and parents can download on our website or will be given an activity sheet with a new exciting literary task to complete each day. It begins on Monday the 30th of March and ends on the 5^th of April, lasting a full week and encouraging families to spend time reading together.
